Monterey growl

Why doesn’t Apple check your computer to make sure you have enough room for Monterey upgrade? I tried to install the update to Monterey three days ago and it ran out of space on my heavily used one terabyte hard drive.And I guess it left all sorts of garbage there because then I had great trouble getting anything to work and I’ve been now working to delete files before trying it again. But it should’ve known there was not enough space. I am not a happy camper. Ric Blacksten
