Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
I was updating my MacBook Pro from 2018 and it was doing fine until the screen suddenly turned black and now it won't turn on. I've checked the outlet, the cable, the brick, everything. I've held power for 10 seconds and nothing happens. I have no signs of life on my MacBook.
Any suggestions?

Did that take minutes or did they have to go away with the computer for days? Have the same problem.
Took maybe 25 minutes or so.

Nope, waiting to see what happen to other people to take a decision. Though paying the repair offered is not on my horizon, yet!
Had a call with the apple support team. They're saying get it fixed with your money now and in future if there is a program for this problem, we'll issue a refund.
I hope that they offer a smart way of dealing with this. Many loyal customers (me included) feel extremely disappointed for what happened and how they are treating us!!

Wow. I am really happy for you. I also have a 2016 MacBook Pro. They didn’t agree to repair mine. May I ask where you are from?

BUT you need two MacBooks, only downside.

Exactly! I only re-install macos with previous version and this solved my problem on iMac 18.2.
Monterey killed my MacBook Pro.
