Monterey killed my MacBook Pro.

I was updating my MacBook Pro from 2018 and it was doing fine until the screen suddenly turned black and now it won't turn on. I've checked the outlet, the cable, the brick, everything. I've held power for 10 seconds and nothing happens. I have no signs of life on my MacBook.

Any suggestions?

Update y’all, scroll to the bottom for tldr.

I picked up my MacBook from the Apple store after I refused to pay that service, I had asked them to remove the logicboard so that I could scrap the parts and not worry about saved data but they said they couldn’t do it- good thing they couldn’t.

Previously my MacBook Pro 2018 would not turn on after a software update, taking it to the store they could not get it to power on at all, they confirmed it was not a battery issue but said it was a logicboard issue.

I took it home and my partner wanted to give a try and used this video and followed it accordingly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=evvTbMTOskc&t=1185s and y’all … it turned on. It said the battery needed to be charged and we charged it and it was on! We are reinstalling the software now but things look promising.

hope this helps:
