Failed macOS Sierra after factory reset

Someone send help, please. I’m a desperate college student whose stupid idea to factory reset their Macbook Air went in complete crap. I’m stuck on the window after internet recovery mode— I keep reinstalling macOS Sierra but it keeps on failing. What do I do??

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 11.6

Was this Method used to Factory Reset the computer >> Use Disk Utility to erase an Intel-based Mac ?

If so, then this method from Apple should be used to reinstall the OS >> How to reinstall macOS

Notation in second step - an Active and Functioning Internet Connection is Required. To avoid the tricky Wifi Connection in this mode - Suggest using and Ethernet Cable to Router.

Check the top-right corner of your screen for the wi-fi connection logo and make sure you are connected to your network. Better yet, connect your Mac to your network router with an ethernet cable.

Have you erased the drive and reformatted it with Disk Utility? Use Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format with GUID partition scheme and named Macintosh HD.

What error message are you presented with when the reinstall fails?

Thank you for replying, Sir!

Unfortunately I don’t know what happened with my Macbook or what I did, honestly. After redownloading Sierra, the error message reads “An error has occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again.”

Also please explain step by step on what I have to do, I don’t know any technical jargon;;
