No FaceTime sound since updating to iOS 15.1

Since updating to 15.1 I get no sound on my iPad when making FaceTime calls. Other apps on iPad such as YouTube and game apps have great sound. Just no sound for FaceTime

This issue is related to Software, and can be resolved by placing the device in recovery mode, restoring through iTunes on a Mac or PC, and then downloading and installing the latest iOS via iTunes after the restore completes.

Doing so will erase the device and remove the corrupted/malfunctioned iOS software that was installed, and reinstall a new version of that iOS Software on the device.

Hope that helps!

Hello JanKWV,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

If we understand your post correctly, since updating your iPad to 15.1 you have no sound when using FaceTime on your iPad but you do have sound for everything else. We'd like to help!

Have you restarted your iPad since this started happening?

Restart your iPad

The article that you came from, If you hear no sound or distorted sound from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch speaker, is a good resource for this issue with your iPad.

"Check your sound settings

If your device has a Ring/Silent switch, move the switch forward—toward the device's display—so that orange isn't showing. If you're using an iPad, you can also swipe down from the top-right corner to view Control Center and make sure that Silent Mode is off.

Open Settings > Do Not Disturb and make sure that Do Not Disturb is off."

We also recommend checking out this article for help with the microphone: If the microphones on your iPhone aren't working

This article might be beneficial to you as well: If you can't make a FaceTime call on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Have you also checked to make sure that the mute button on the left side of your iPad isn't enabled?

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Take care!h
