biomesyncd process causing my fans to spin up

In the last week or so (since upgrading to the release candidate of Monterey - I had no problems on the Beta) I've noticed fan noise on my iMac, even when just browsing the web.

A process I don't recognize, and can't find any reference to on the web, 'biomesyncd' is constantly running at close to 100% CPU.

Any ideas what this is or how I might address it?
