iOS 15.1 music not playing via USB & aux cord

Spoke with an apple supervisor on 12/9/21 who said the same thing- music is no longer playing via usb on some cars with iOS 15.1 update. She said if you have iPhone 12 or 13 they’ve had some success with customers updating to the iOS 15.1.1. If you have an iPhone 11 like I do, they don’t anticipate an update until potentially January. So basically sounds as though for the time being we’re SOL until apple fixes the issue or updates.

Just got off the phone with Apple and they basically told me I either have to wait for the next update to see if the issue is fixed or contact my car's dealership because IOS 15 may no longer be compatible with my car which means my car needs updated. Which isn't really a great solution for me. Shouldn't be creating updates that aren't compatible.

The only “fix” I’ve found is using an aux cord with the connector instead :/

I highly doubt it’sa Chevy issue. Apple has provided me with a ticket associated with this issue. Try calling apple maybe that’ll help jump start a fix

Same. My husband's iphone 11 with the 15.1 ios suddenly won't work on his 2011 car with USB audio...

me too. It will charge, but not play music. it has just been happening since I last updated ios to 15.1

I’m experiencing the same problem. According to apple it is a known problem. It sucks because I can’t listen to my music at all in my 2011 Cruze. iPhone XS.

That “fix” doesn’t work for me. I have an ‘09 GMC Acadia and I try to use the aux cable and adapter with my IPhone 12 and it won’t work for some reason. It all started when I downloaded the ios 15.1.1 update, my aux worked before then but when I updated my phone, the aux didn’t work and still doesn’t work as of 12/3/2021

Also having the same problem with my iPhone 12 Pro Max and trying to use it in my Vauxhall Astra. The phone is recognised via the USB cable as the phone is charging but the music no longer plays via the car. This issue only started when I updated my phone to 15.1.1. Has anyone found a solution to this yet?

Same issue! I have a 2012 Cruze and am having the same thing. Trying to talk to Chevy about how to know if the software in my car needs updated to fix this issue, but not getting very far. Overall, Apple should be fixing this if they know it's an issue

Same here with iPhone 13 and since iOS 15.1. iPhone is connected via USB (iPod mode) and my car does not have Apple CarPlay.
