I know that I am still waiting to receive my new 2021 MacBook Pro Max 16" laptop. Are there any hardshell cases out there yet? I like to place the MacBook to keep it well protected from scratches and unwanted markings.

Yes. But Don't Use One!
Using a Hardshell Case can result in an overheating Mac, So, revolt from using one.

Since the MBPs cool through vents at the rear, it should be fine. Make sure to ask the mfr if their product allows enough cooling.
