Reading in Kindle app when it froze up. I can't get off the reading page to do anything. Tried reset by holding on switch and volume down button. The phone vibrates and then a siren sounds 3 times. No Apple logo, just the Kindle page. How do I fix this?

The system resources were being swollen up. When your phone freezes, it needs to catch up with itself. So, something is running in the background. As to what it was, there is no was of telling.
