Recently whenever I'm working out (Walking) and I get notifications such as "First mile walked in X amount of time" Netflix pauses and I have to manually un-pause it.
Is there a solution to this? I tried activating "Do Not Disturb" mode but it doesn't help.
I don't know if this happens with other streaming apps since I have not tested it.

Mine does the same since last update WatchOS8.1. Never had the problem before this.
when running on the treadmill watching Netflix through a Roku device with private listening for sound to Airpods, every time the watch updates a kilometre time and pace or exercise goals, it now pauses Netflix and disconnects the sound.
it does not resume after the notification.
therefore, whilst running, I have to reconnect the audio and start netflix playing again after every notification.
this did not happen with watch OS7 and below.
Exactly my same issue, except for the audio disconnecting.
And now that you say it, I agree it must be the update...
