Monterey won't photos in screen saver. How to fix that?
I also reinstalled and Photo screensaver still doesn't work – just a black screen. I sure hope that Apple doesn't ignore this issue. I was going to buy a bigger desktop iMac so that I could have a slide show all day, but not now!

It's a bug with Monterey and Photos that has been discussed at length in the ASC. All we can do is use a screensaver that does not use image files, whether from a Photos library or a folder of image files on the hard drive) until Apple releases a fix for it.
Meanwhile, tell Apple about the problem via Feedback - macOS - Apple.

Thank you for participating in the Apple Support Communities. To clarify the issue, does this only happen when you are using a slideshow? Could you try a screensaver that is not using a slideshow to see if the issue persists? Also, restart your device to rule out any issues there.

i have re installed Monterey and still my photos screen saver will not work.
I am now using Photos Slide show which for me is even better than screensaver photos. I have saved several slideshows which I actually prefer to my old screensaver photos.
