I think this has been since the last iPhone update.
When running on a treadmill or on the road. Every KM my sound pauses
This happens when using YouTube radio podcasts Apple Music and Spotify.

Hi, I think I have found a solution to this problem. In the Workout section of the Watch app there is a setting called “Voice Feedback” I turned this off and I haven’t had the problem since.
Its never been an issue before so can only assume the latest OS update turned the setting on

Andy N81 has solved this issue. Iv just done a 5k with no messing round with my watch.

Guided access mode was the only thing that worked for me to keep my music on my iPhone 12 Pro playing during my run last night. It's significantly worse since installing 15.1
My wife had the issue bad while still on 15.0.1.
Apple - we could do with a fix for this.
Audible Workout notifications from watch now stop music rather than pausing or overplaying like they did before 15.1.
Same issue using Apple Music / Podcasts app / Spotify. All worked fine until15.1.
I have the same problem. This began since my MWV62TA/A updated to watchOS 8.1.
Every single time I get a notification that I've ran or walked another kilometer the audio pauses and I have to manually press play on my phone or watch. This is super annoying since I wear my watch on my ankle since I work at a desk and walk on a treadmill at the same time.
If it matters, I'm using Spotify to play music from my phone over bluetooth to a speaker.

Hello Danny0961 and welcome to Apple Support Communities. It appears you are having some difficulty with the sound pausing when you are exercising.
When you say this happens every kilometer, is that an actual measurement or are you saying that it pauses from time to time? Also are you streaming content when this happens or are you listening to content that has been downloaded? A pause in the audio stream is usually an indication of an issue with network throughput.

I am having this issue too. I’m going to try to turn off voice feedback to fix however that’s not ideal because it was a nice feature to run and not look at your watch but be told you KM split time.
Apple any intention of a fix?

Yep mine too. Has to be the update.. I also tried turning off exercise notifications but it still pauses. Hopefully they will have it fixed in the next update, so annoying
Hi there and thank you for coming back to me. It is literally each kilometre in distance. It happens when streaming and also when listening to downloaded music and ebooks.
it’s not too bad when walking but when running for 2 hours it is a bit of a pain.
The weird thing it doesn’t happen when cycling.
Even further update. I tried turning off auto notifications and auto pause on the watch settings.

I also tried again whilst connected to my work phone.

I tried just using my watch and ear pods no phone involved.

I am having the same issue. Sometimes, after a number of KMs walked, I will hear the actual voice notification on my AirPods and the music will automatically resume. But the first few KMs walked I do not hear the notification and the music does not resume.
Same exact thing started happening to me
