Child on Family Setup cannot add or edit Contacts Profile ID Images

I set up my under-13 yr old with an Apple Watch SE last month. She can view and access her approved Contacts but the displayed image is locked in default "initials in circle" (so a text or call alert only shows a colored circle and the first and last initials of the person calling/texting; likewise in the Contacts list for her watch visible on my iPhone 12 Pro's app for our Apple watches). Even MY contacts which do have photos assigned to their IDs do not display any photo once within her watch or my app under her watch.

Can this really not be edited so she can have a photo or some other personalization assigned to her contacts?

Is there some way to allow contacts for the child account to have ID photos displayed on her watch? It'd just be a happier thing to see the human's face rather than "large dusty lavender dot containing two letters" calling.

Hi, and welcome to the Apple Community.

Wondering which iOS (Operating System) is installed on the child's watch.

This article "What's new in iOS 8" mentions:

Use the new Contacts app to quickly browse, add, or edit contacts right on your Apple Watch
