"error Occurred preparing update"

The installer says "error occurred while preparing update" and states to try again later. The only option is to exit the installation. I am upgrading from Big Sur on a 15" MBP mid-2015. Help!

This is the error I get when I try to upgrade to Monterey: “The operation couldn’t be completed. (PKDownloadError error 8.)" I'm not sure what is wrong and I would love any advice on how to fix this. "The file can't be found." on booting... Everytime I start my MacBook Pro (intel chip), I get two error message. Both say "The file can't be found". This has been happening ever since I updated to big sur. I have to click on "OK" (twice) to make them go away. Neither does it tell you what file can't be found. I just updated to Ventura 13.1 and the problem remains. As does the control strip/touch bar issue. Is Apple going downhill...SMH.

Mac stuck on checking for updates while updating macOS I'm trying update my 2017 iMac to Big Sur 11.6.4 from Big Sur 11.6.3 and all I get is a spinning wheel in "checking for updates". Is there any way to fix this [Re-Titled by Moderator]
