imovie will not allow me to delete a project! It said I don't have "permission," to access the file. It then tells me to change permissions, go to Finder. When I go to Finder, the project is not there!

imovie will not allow me to delete a project! It said I don't have "permission," to access the file. It then tells me, "...to change permissions, go to Finder." When I go to Finder, the project is not there! How do I delete this project out of my iMovie?!

Permissions problems can be a pain.

What steps are you taking to delete a project, and what happens when you try? What version of iMovie and Operating System are you running?

Try Contol-clicking on the iMovie app icon in the Finder, click on Get Info, and in the Get Info box confirm that you have read and write permissions. Do the same with your iMovie Library icon. If you store your iMovie Library on an external drive, then In the iMovie Library icon Get Info box, make sure that the box that says "ignore ownership on this volume" is checked. See if all of that cures it.
