Problem when downloading .zip from iCloud.com (network error)

Hello, nice to be here in Apple Support Forum!

I recently got shared 5 albums from my friend, which each contains exactly 1000 images/video each (the maximum amount can share), and I can't import directly to my iCloud Drive because it has run out of storage, so I have to download .zip files from iCloud.com instead.

The problem here is when I'm trying to download, it does not appear total storage each .zip file, and when I've reached the limit download time (I guess), the download was corrupted and It showed: "Network Error". I also used IDM to catch the link, but It neither show the file size too! IDM throws an error when It reached a limitation time: "The file may not have been downloaded completely because the file size is unknown." I know it hasn't been completed because it was 2GB file size (2GB for 1000 images/ video?) So in short, I can't download albums from iCloud.com.

Do you have any solution for this?, any which I can handle, I would be very appreciated!

Sorry if my words are not properly or it make you feel uncomfortable. I'm not a native. :( Furthermore, the platform I'm using is Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 64-Bit Build 17763.

Hello nguyenphuc241,

It sounds as though you’re attempting to download several shared photo albums to your Windows computer that were shared via iCloud. Apple Support Communities is a wonderful place for help.

To clarify, are these Shared Albums ones that you were received an invitation for? If so, this could be why you’re having issues downloading the albums as those photos wouldn’t be stored in your iCloud, but rather shared from that individual. If that’s the case you would need to add those photos to your iCloud Photo Library in order to download those to your PC. As there are a lot of photos in those albums you have a couple of options. This would require an increase in your iCloud storage. The following article outlines the steps and options for upgrading to a different iCloud+ plan.

Upgrade to iCloud+

Once your storage plan has been upgraded you can then add those photos to your iCloud Photo Library on an iOS or iPadOS device. To do this open the album in Photos, tap select then you can drag your finger across the photos to select them, and then tap the share icon to add them to your library by tapping save photos.

The next option would be to have those photos emailed to you, or provided via an external storage device such as an external hard drive or thumb drive.

Another option that is available, and would allow you to view the Shared Albums on your PC. To do this, you'll want to download and use iCloud for Windows. The following articles can help with downloading iCloud for Windows, and viewing the Shared Albums.

Take care!
