Can't install iTunes on macOS Monterey

Good day! Recently updated my macbook air to macOS Monterey. And now there was a problem downloading the iTunes app to my device (since it was not installed earlier). How can this problem be solved? Thank you in advance.

Marina,

For the newest versions of macOS, namely Catalina, Big Sur, and Monterey, there is not a version of iTunes. Use the Music and related apps instead. See information in here:

All I know is that they must have fed the iTunes App to some cattle, and what ever came out the other end, they scooped up and put it on our computers for media apps. Sounds crude I know, but a lot of times it feels that way. I have no way around it yet. Unless you buy a PC cheap just to use iTunes as a server. I did do that, and it is better than the other apps for me.

I also have also updated to macOS Monterey. I do not care about Amazon Music. Why I needed iTunes was because I do a lot of driving and listen to audiobooks on my iPOD Nano. It's more convenient, I can leave it attached in the car, and don't have to fool around with my iPhone every time I get in the car. Now that audiobooks are downloaded into Books, and iTunes is no longer there to help with the transfer, what do I do? I've tried everything, even downloading another product to help with the transfer. But nothing will "connect" with Books except iTunes.

Not only that but if you share your iTunes library with Music, it does not recognize play counts, it does not update play counts and it just magically stops playing sometimes after 15 seconds and sometimes a bit longer. Horrible user experience with Music. I would give it negative stars if they would allow us. I would like iTunes back, however, thankful I still have a Windows box for all my media, because I have a feeling it would have been hosed by Music!

I couldn't agree with you more, gmeadors. I feel like Apple has gone all out to not only control but also force us to pay them to access all our own music. I am currently trying to activate iTunes in Monterey, but predictably, it's not going well. More and more, I feel gouged and bullied by Apple. Apple Music is so flawed I can't believe they released and forced it on us.
