Can't install iTunes on macOS Monterey

Hmm, just read the github replies and it seems the latest Monterey has broken something for the installer. For me 12.3.1 broke the Thunderbolt to Firewire cable to my EyeTV 410 box which I found was the best video receiver Elgato ever made.

As for the lack of iTunes, I was relieved to get it running and will reluctantly move to Apple Music, et al, when they force my iPods from my cold, dead hands. Alternatively, I'll run it reluctantly, from one of my too-many old Macs that sit in cupboards or on the floor where all the spiders, dragons and goodness knows what else live.

From what I can tell retroactive is not compatible with Monterey, so it would be a waste of time. However, I will keep an eye on it if the developer updates it in the future! Nice.

Thanks! You can also find your cable-connected device in a finder window with "Sidebar" on (which can be tuned on/off in the View pulldown).

They should make iTunes available for Monterey OS

These separate apps don't let you do some things that I love iTunes for, namely making Smart Playlists that shuffle music and podcasts together.
