Power over USBC stopped working since upgrading to Monterey

So before I updated to Monterey I had my M1 MacBook Air connected to my Philips 346p monitor and the USBC connection on the monitor charged my laptop and also connected it to the monitor.

Since updating this setup no longer works and the only workaround I've found is to use the other USBC port on the MacBook Air as a power supply and plug it into the wall socket. Not ideal when I only have two ports to begin with! Anyone else encountered this?

Hey mat88,

Since updating to macOS Monterey, you're no long able to use the monitor to charge your computer. Test in safe mode to see if the issue occurs: How to use safe mode on your Mac. If it works as expected in safe mode, restart normally and test.

If it doesn't test in safe mode, check to see if it works in a different user account. If you do not have another one, set up a test administrator account by following the steps here: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. If issue doesn't occur in the different user account, it could be related to settings in your account. You may delete the test account afterwards.

If issue continues, reset the SMC: How to reset the SMC of your Mac.

Hope this helps. Take care.
