External Monitor Not Working after Monterey Upgrade

Hello Friends,

I have been using an external; Phillips monitor on my MacBook Pros for as long as I have had them. I currently have a 2020 MacBook Pro and after upgrading to Monterey when I plug in the display both my Mac and the display just flicker.

Any idea what I can do to make it work?

EXTERNAL MONITOR DELL NOT RECOGNISED AFTER MONTEREY UPGRADE I upgraded to macOS Monterey 12.2 for my macBook Pro (15" mid 2018) and now my external monitor Dell alienware is not recognized. I've successfully used a Dell monitor with a usb C adaptor until this IOS upgrade. In order to rule out the USB C port issue, I did try a different monitor brand, and for my surprise did work. So the issue is not the C port, not cables, not power, (the Dell works on different devices). When I connect my macbook Pro Dell AW doesn't work. Already try the option button while clicking display in system preferences but nothing seems to work to get the computer to now recognized the Dell AW 27 monitor.

External Monitor Hello I'd really appreciate any guidance on this problem I've been having. I'm trying to connect an external monitor to my Macbook Air (2019 model). My monitor is a Samsung (S24E650DW) and the cable i'm using is a USB-C to DisplayPort cable (this one - https://www.amazon.co.uk/DisplayPort-uni-Compatible-MacBook-Surface/dp/B075V27G2R). This set-up has worked in the past but recently it's so flickery it's not usable. I've read online that I may need to be an adaptor/cable from Apple directly. Is this true? Or might there be an alternative fix? I've tried quite a few fixes already but none seem to work. Thanks so much in advance Bethany

We see that you need help with using an external monitor with your Mac.

For the best help, follow the steps here: If your external display isn't detected or appears blurry on your Mac

You can also try to Reset NVRAM or PRAM on your Mac.

If you need more help, Contact Official Apple Support.

I have the same problem and I've reset NVRAM as suggested and the problem remains. Any other suggestions other than "pay apple support for a problem their update just caused"? Please? Getting desperate and nowhere all at once :)
