Problems with Mail today

I downloaded Monterey OS 2 days ago. Until today, I had no problem/s. OS 12.0.1 I have: MacBookAir7,2; Dual-Core Intel Core i5.

Apple Mail is driving me nuts today! It:

Repeatedly marked as "Unread" emails that I had read. I had to double-click the email, then, using the Message Menu, mark it as "Read." This usually fixed it.
Undeleted emails that I had deleted. After I deleted them again, that usually fixed the problem.
Un-flagged emails that I had flagged. Usually did not repeat after I re-flagged them.

I will re-start this machine; perhaps that will fix it ....
