Notifications disappear quickly after waking from sleep in

I have a new 14" Macbook Pro. When I wake it from sleep, I see notifications on the "lock screen", but these disappear immediately once I've logged in with touch ID and the screen becomes active. These are banner notifications, and I understand that they are supposed to disappear after some period of time, but they are disappearing so fast that I have to click on the notifications menu in the menu bar to see them.

Is this a known issue?

Hello s_w_i_t_t_e_r_s,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities! We understand your notifications disappearing before you can read them when waking the Mac from sleep. We're happy to assist you with this.

Try changing your notification settings to "Alerts" to see if this is better for you: Change Notifications preferences on Mac

You can also see your notifications in the Notification Center: Use Notification Center on Mac

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities, and have a great day!
