MacBook Air battery not charging when power plugged in USB-C digital av multiport adapter

When I plug the usb-c power directly into my MacBook Air, the battery charges fine. However, when power is plugged in through my USB-C digital av multiport adapter, the battery icon shows a plug and says battery not charging.

Hello Splash93,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand that your MacBook Air shows "Not Charging" when connected to an adapter. You've come to the right place. We're happy to help.

It's possible that the adapter gives enough power to run your Mac, but not enough power to charge the Mac. Take a look at the following resource for more information: If your Mac battery status is "Not Charging"

Have a nice day!
