How do I add my random email address as the "from" address in an email to a new contact?

How do I add my random email address (iCloud Hide My Email) as the "from" address in an email to a new contact? Not as a subscriber email on a web page, but in a regular outgoing email.

Rich9876,

Glad you're back! Thanks for testing this out because you were able to verify that you'd need two-factor authentication code.

We were able to dig into this further. We've found this guide: What is Hide My Email? It gives clearer information "You can read and respond directly to emails sent to these addresses ", and it doesn't look like you can initiate them.

If you wanted to do this, maybe setting up an iCloud Mail Alias might be a better solution for you. Check this out: Add and manage email aliases for iCloud Mail on iCloud.com. It explains this in better detail and shows you how to set up an email alias using iCloud.com. By doing this, it should allow you to see this when you select "From" when sending emails.

Cheers!

Hello, and welcome to Apple Support Communities Rich9876,

From your post we can see you've been using Learn more about Hide My Email and iCloud+, and have questions about adding the "from" address to your emails.

If you're using an iPad, this should help: Send email in Mail on iPad. Go to the section that has "Send an email from a different account". We'd want to see if you find the random email address located when you tap the From field, we'd suggest being in the iCloud account itself when testing this out.

We're hoping this helps!

Thanks for the response! When I click on the "From" field I only get two email options, my iCloud id and my Apple id. When I go to settings and try to add my random id to "Reachable At", it sends a verification email to the random id for a verification code however no code is ever received. I think if I could add my random id to my "Reachable At" id's then your suggestion would work.

How do I add my random email address as the "from" address in an email to a new contact?
