Apple Music on non Apple devices

Why can't I access Apple music on streaming devices without having to go through Apple Air Play

which degrades the sound? I can run my Ipod touch directly into my Luxman DAC and achieve excellent

results however non Apple devices like Bluesound Node and Cambridge CVN must use Air Play. This

results in the forfeiture of lossless play which defeats the whole idea of quality sound.

I do not understand why Apple would develop a lossless music service and make it basic unavailable to people

with high end devices. They could license it to media streamer producers or make their own device like the Cambridge Audio VXN V2 with a nice screen for Album art and all the features a Network audio streamer has. And yes there is plenty of demand for that type of hardware. (image included)

It has Apple Airplay but no direct link to Apple Music.
