Can’t add my card to apple wallet

When I try to add my card to apple wallet with the + sign on the right top, it keeps saying ‘ To add cards, keys, tickets, and passes to Wallet. look for the Add to Wallet button in apps, emails, and websites.’

I tried removing current cards, tickets etc but still same things happened.

Had the same issue and managed to sorted out by going to Settings > General > Language and Region

changed region to United State in my case (it’s changed because I’ve been outside for a while)

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We see you're running into an issue adding a card to the Wallet app, and you're in the right place for assistance. The resource Add, use, and share boarding passes, tickets, and other passes in Apple Wallet was a great place to start.


To double-check, is this specifically for cards that you want to use with Apple Pay? We recommend working through the suggestions in this link If you can't add cards to Wallet to use with Apple Pay if so.

I am having the same problem as the original poster. However, the links provided do not resolve the problem at all. When I open Wallet and press the "+" button, the Wallet shows the message as in the original post. My iPhone 12 has the latest iOS (15.1.1).


It doesn't matter WHAT I am trying to add. The Wallet app is NOT proceeding past this point. I am signed in to iCloud and Apple ID. I have previously added OTHER cards to the Wallet. But today it is NOT working as per the instructions.


Unfortunately, no, these links do not help resolve the issue.

I was able to fix it by pressing on “United States” again. It thought that was a region change even though “United States” was selected. My wife’s phone did not. I also noticed that the dollar sign was a strange character before resetting the region. I wish Apple provided a clearer error message, but the “change the region” solution is the only thing that’s worked for me.
