I would just downgrade. That is what I did and is has been great.

I had to downgrade to Big Sur, which was a hassle, but battery is working normal again on my Intel-Mac. I guess I'm sticking to it for a while.

The problem continues in 12.2.1. And now I still suffer from 90% discharge and 100% recharge (connected to AC). Once a day this happens. I returned to Big Sur and the problem of daily discharges

Same issue here with my MacPro Intel i5(16 GB).

Still regretting why i went for intel as it was just a few months before M1 launch.

Normal battery life was around 3-4 hours(just browsing).

After Monterey update, battery doesn't even last for an hour.

Paid 1800 euros for this crap.. :(

Fans run crazy even running a small app.

Im having the same issue as well. Im on a 2020 M1 MacBook Pro bought in mid September 2021. Based on my battery usage during Big Sur and Monterey, Monterey drains the battery a little bit more.. Used to be able to last a whole week without charging when I'm doing my school work on Big Sur but now I need charges in between classes.. Hope Apple issues an update on this too

Same exact experience on my M1 MB Air (8GB/256GB) purchased early September 2021. I figured it was the video wallpaper application I was using but no change after disabling it.

I have exactly the same issue with my MacBook Air M1; Battery life was heavenly, but now it's depressingly short. I always take good care of the batteries, spending as much time within the 20-80% range, and dimming my screen. But this is just too painful to watch :(

Downgrading to Big Sur seems like a hassle. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. Next time, I will wait a couple of weeks before upgrading!

My BRAND NEW 16" Macbook Pro 2021 running MacOS Monterey 12.0.1 has a battery that's draining ridiculously fast. So disappointed. This is not the battery life that this expensive machine is purported to have. : /

Yes, I've kinda noticed the same issue with my M1 Macbook Air after updating to macOS Monterey. The battery doesn't last that long as compared to before the update:( I'm wondering if this affects the majority or just a fraction of mac users who have updated to Monterey. Would love to hear your thoughts, anyone?

I am facing the same issue with my M1 MacBook Air (4 months old). I had updated my OS to macOS Monterey (version 12.0.1) nearly 10 days back and since then I have been facing the battery drainage issue. Requesting Apple to release an update with the fix soon.

Brand new MacBook Pro M1 14" 32GB 1TB storage only has 1 week.

Unplugged from the office last night around 5pm. Came to use it this morning at 8:40am and battery was flat, well about 5% full. MacBook was a sleep, but I noticed was very warm in my carry case. Very disappointing.

Thought I'd found the issue being Dropbox Sync. Removed it and after full charge at 5pm last night leaving the office, battery is down to 38% in 15 hours whilst asleep and no usage between then and now. Every morning it is a different app supposedly causing the issue. Today its Spotlight and Maps. When I check activity monitor only Maps is there but not Spotlight. Why would maps be sucking power. Hope Apple are on the case because its a PITA.

I have a similar issue. In my case, my computer is constantly hot and I have to shut it down several times a day to cool down. Before Monterey, I could last a whole day with a full charge but now it takes only 4 hours.

I tried removing Google Drive app but this did not solve the issue. I've been using them for many years, removing them is far more disruptive than removing Monterey. I would rather settle for the less disruptive.
