Adaptive sync over HDMI

Hi.

(I have a MacMini M1)

I'm would like to know if somebody here is using a MacMini M1 with a display with variable fresh rate (Freesync/Gsync or whatever) through an HDMI cable as I'm able to have this feature just via usb-c to Displayport with an LG 27" display which I don't want to use. With my 4K 15,6" portable display (with Freesync) it doesn't work. Neither via usb-c/usb-c (which should be a Displayport signal, isn't it?).

My thought is: I need a better HDMI cable but in my experience cables bundled with display are always good enough.

Tnx for any opinion, suggestion, thoughts...
