Safari tab closing automatically.

Since upgrade to MacOS Monterey, I have notice my few of the safari tabs are getting closed suddenly.

I'm using tab groups.

Safari version: 15.1 (17612.2.9.1.20)

MacOS: 12.0.1 (21A559)

Any suggestion on this issue?

The issue has something to do with iCloud syncing. All tab groups are synced on all your Apple devices. The bug is due to wrong synchronization which overrides whatever you're doing at the moment. This is an issue in CloudKit for years now and I thought Apple have fixed it in macOS 12. Apparently, it's not. For now, you can either ignore this feature until it becomes stable one day or simple make sure you're always connected to a good internet connection.

I've observed this issue too: newly opened tabs closing as I'm typing in them, reverting to a previous page that I obviously don't want to be on anymore, reopening recently closed tabs. Clearly a synchronization issue, but the lack of a bug fix is a bit galling. This issue is enough to make me consider jumping to Firefox and Chrome as my go to browsers. When I first began using tab groups in the fall of 2021, I did not observe this problem. In fact, I'd probably date it around December 2021/January 2022 that it started impacting me and exclusively on my laptop (my phone does not have this problem with tab groups). That makes me thing that it's an issue with the iOS on my laptop (Monterey 12.03). Please fix this! Tab groups are a useful idea but if they aren't going to work cleanly, then it's kind of a waste of Apple's energy and also that of its customers.

Yes. That issue is really annoying and as far as I can see there is no much attention on it.

No topics around internet (Stack Overflow, Apple Support, Apple Developer Forums)

I don't know if there is so small number of users affected by that behaviour or it is just hard to find any answers.

I sent a bug report in Apple Feedback Assistant. Will see how it goes.

I am having the exact same problem on my brand new M1 MacBook Air running MacOS12.1 and Safari on Version 15.2 (17612.3.6.1.6).

Safari tabs will sometimes close automatically. Some other times the page will randomly go back to its previous page and it's impossible to go back to the original page because the original page goes missing when I press my "forward" button on my browser. Can someone please help us??

I have the same issue. Just now I opened a new tab and began entering a search phrase and the tab "magically" closed. I've also had the situation where I click in the url/search field and enter content and press enter just to have safari navigate back to the page that was originally open.
