Apple Card said it was unable to verify my identity

It said it was unable to verify my identity. Why is that?

See if any of these steps help



  • On your compatible iPhone , go to settings>general>software update and make sure there are no updates (must be at least 12.4.*).
  • Make sure you are using 2 factor authentication - Settings>Apple ID (your name at the top)>password & security>Two-factor authentication - turn on.
  • Make sure your region is set correctly for your Apple ID (Change your Apple ID country or region - Apple Support) [Must be USA]
  • Make sure your region is set correctly on your phone [Settings>general>language & region - set to your region] (Must be set to USA).
  • Make sure you are signed into your iCloud Apple ID Sign in with your Apple ID - Apple Support.
  • Restart your phone (A forced reboot may be needed - Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support).
  • You need a drivers license, Military ID, or state issued ID, a passport will not work.
  • Must be using a passcode/Touch ID/Face ID on device. (settings>Touch ID/Face ID & Passcode - turn one or both on).
