Incomplete emails
I am receiving all Gmails, but a small blue box with question mark appears where message should be. By clicking on the box, it brings up the message, but some articles have several. A real pain in the butt.

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! We understand that you are seeing some unexpected symbols in Mac Mail in your Gmail account
Is this happening with any other accunts, or only with Gmail? Are these showing when you are composing and sending an email, or only when receiving them? Does this happen with more than one contact? Do the emails show properly when checking through a web browser? Do the emails show properly on a different device? Have you restarted your Mac or attempted any other troubleshooting on your own so far?
If the issue is only on your Mac, let's begin by validating all of your installed fonts using Font Book on your Mac. here are the steps to take, once you have Font Book open:
- Click All Fonts in the sidebar at left.
- Click in the fonts list to its right.
- Choose Edit > Select All (or press Command-A).
- Choose File > Validate Fonts.
