Message when trying to move a photo to messages or email: The operation couldn’t be completed. (PHAssetExportRequestErrorDomain error 3.)

MacBook Pro 8 GB memory, running Big Sur Version 11.6. What am I missing? I did delete some applications that I thought were superfluous earlier today to try and clear memory to upgrade my OS. Sure it's my error, but I don't know where I went wrong.

Hello Jim Halfdime,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're seeing an error when trying to add photos in Messages on your MacBook Pro. We're happy to look into this with you.

We recommend that you test the issue while in safe mode. Starting in safe mode allows your Mac to run certain checks, remove caches, and prevent login items from automatically launching. This can isolate possible third party issues. Use the steps and information in the link below for assistance with safe mode:

How to use safe mode on your Mac

Let us know the results. Does the issue occur with all photos? Be sure to include additional error messages and any other troubleshooting steps that you may have already tried.

Have a wonderful day!
