iPhone 13 mini alarm faulty

My alarm will not play songs selected to wake me. It either shows the alarm time has been reached with a notification but no song plays or it plays a tone alarm even though a song is selected. I have restarted the iPhone, closed out of the clock, turned up the volume etc etc to no avail. $1500 phone? Apple needs to do better

Hello Beej75,

After reviewing your post, it seems like the alarm is not playing sound from the song selected. There are a couple things you can try that may be able to help. We would recommend you read this article for more information.

Does it play the song in the alarm if you choose a different song?

If you delete the alarm and recreate it, does it play the song?

Was this song downloaded from the iTunes Store or Apple Music?

"Do Not Disturb and the Ring/Silent switch don't affect the alarm sound. If you set your Ring/Silent switch to Silent or turn on Do Not Disturb, the alarm still sounds.

If you have an alarm that doesn't sound or is too quiet, or if your iPhone only vibrates, check the following:

  • Set the volume on your iPhone. If your alarm volume is too low or too loud, press the volume button up or down to adjust it. You can also go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics and drag the slider under Ringer and Alerts.
  • If your alarm only vibrates, make sure that your alarm sound isn't set to None. Open the Clock app, tap the Alarm tab, then tap Edit. Tap the alarm, then tap Sound and choose a Sound."

I have same problem as OP but neither of these settings are relevant. If the phone was too low we would not be hearing the default alarm, and if the sound was off we also would not hear the default alarm.

Something is causing this that is wrong with the programming. Like OP I reset my phone and tried deleting and creating these alarms. I have used the exact same settings as my old phone (iphone8) for years now.
