Monterey: Drag drop in excel does not scroll anymore to the right

Dear community,

Whenever I try to drag and drop a cell in excel towards the right edge of the window, it doesn't scroll anymore. Previously, as soon as I came near the edge of the window (like really close) it started to pane sideways. Nowadays, it creates a textclipping object as soon as the cursor leaves the window and I can't make it scroll. Not even a bit.

Am I missing something? I checked options in excel, but to no avail. Vertical "drag and drop"-scrolling works fine. Horizontal works too, as long as I go towards the left. But as soon as I try to get back towards the right, it creates this **** textclipping object.
