Then, too, possibly, your system just needs a little tweaking after the updates. Try these two procedures, that are easy to do and and simply involve rebooting while holding down certain keys:

Try resetting the System Management Controller (but no longer available for the new M1 computers):

Resetting the NVRAM or PRAM

Hi Rich, Thanks for writing while I have gone through the response they are not relating to the performance improvements for iMovie application.

if I can narrate the issue further where the iMovie app is getting stuck many times during the editing of an video. This one I specifically found in Monterey not in BigSur.

Users with the slow loading problem have been finding that the library eventually will load, although it may take a very long time. Try letting it continue to load overnight, or as long as necessary. Thirty minutes might be enough. Then, once you have it loaded you can park the open iMovie on your doc where you can easily access it without requiring the library to load again. This would be a temporary workaround until Apple fixes the problem.

Hi Rich, Good day,

In the newer version (10.3.1) of imovie, I can see a drastic improvement in the performance.

The unattended item in this vesion, is the audio part rendering, which is taking some amount of time for the imovie to render the audio presented along with the video.

Do you have any method that would help us here?

Thanks.

Hi, Balaji.h,

Regrettably I am not aware of any methods that would help your situation, other than mentioned earlier. Several posters have reported sluggishness with Monterey. I think it is an issue that will need to await a future update.

Sometimes Mp3 audio can cause some issues. If your audio is Mp3 you could try changing the format to AAC.
