App Store unavailable.

When I try to go to the App Store, it is completely greyed out and doesn't seem to be connecting. I am trying ultimately to upgrade from Yosemite to Big Sur OS. Suggestions? Thank you

MacBook Air (2020 or later)

Hi avaesme,

Welcome to the Apple Community.

Apple support have articles online to help with upgrades.

How to get old versions of macOS (including Big Sur)

(Safari uses the links in this article to find the old installers in the App Store).

And

If you can't connect to the App Store, iTunes Store, or other Apple services

Or

Wondering if you know that the latest Operating System is now "Monterey" ?

It is compatible with

  • MacBook Air (M1, 2020)
  • MacBook Air (Retina, 13-inch, 2020)

and some earlier MacBook Air models.

Apple support have articles online with more info.

Hope this helps you :-)
