two icloud accounts

I have icloud accounts it seems. I just activated a new phone iPhone 13 Pro, and there is an @icloud.com and @gmail.com. It asked me to log into them both separate times. It sent me in a loop about 4 times of changing my password. The final one is @icloud but I am just wondering if I need to merge the gmail.com one

Apple ID - Primary and Alternative Hello Guys. I activated my iPhone X using a @gmail account, so now that is my Apple ID. The problem is that I want to change it with a @icloud account. I created a mail @icloud, and it was made “Alternative” to my Primary Apple ID. The question is how can I change them? There is no way to merge 2 iCloud accounts. However, if your Apple ID is a gmail account you can have an iCloud account also, which will be an alias for accessing iCloud. You can have separate email accounts for them.
