retain formatting when pasting

The only way now to retain formatting when copying and pasting when using Pages, is to use Paste and Match Style, or option/shift/command/v. Formatting was previously retained with just command/v.

An Apple advisor found a way to reverse the functions of paste and paste and match style, so chem formulas retain their formatting with just copy and paste. I would like to reverse this, but cannot find the two check boxes - one said paste and the other was paste and match style. We uncheck one and checked the other. Does anyone know where those check boxes are located? Not in Pages preferences. I've looked. Not in system preferences/keyboards either.

I already know this. When the OS changed, so that just using command v to paste no longer retained the style of the document something was being pasted into, I started using paste and retain style. You either have to go to the menu or use all six hands to hold option, shift, command, v. What a pain. An advisor found a way to reset the commands, so that command v retained the style. I want to undo that, but cannot find the window which has the check boxes for paste and paste and retain style.
