Install Monterey, immediate slowdown. Any idea why?

After installing Monterey on my mid-2015 15" MBP, I noticed an immediate slowdown when opening folders or timelines in FCPX.

Anyone else notice this or have any idea what to do about it?

In particular, renaming a file or folder takes a ridiculously long time to take effect. Sometimes the finder reports that the action couldn't be completed (even though it often did eventually succeed). I've never had this problem before with any other OS Update. This is a first for me.

Monterey extremely slow Since upgrading to Monterey, any internet operation is slow - painfully slow. Can take several minutes to load a page in Safari or update the Notes through iCloud. I have tried all the the advice e.g. resetting SMC. NVRAM, emptying cache, etc apart from downgrading to Big Sur as this seems a drastic step. Getting this line return in took one minute! When are Apple going to release an update to Monterey which will address this issue?

When I installed Monterey, it seemed to speed things up for me. You might try restarting in the safe mode. Hold down the Shift key on restart. It can take up to 10 minutes, but can often fix a lot of things. Then restart normally and see if there is any difference.
