I have an external network drive where I have my media files. The Apple TV media file location keeps changing to the default local location. How can I get this to stop? When I search for this question the results are from years ago and refer to iTunes, which no longer applies.

I solved the problem. When I restarted my computer my external drive was not connected, so the TV app would reset the media folder location back to the default.
The solution was to include my external drive into my login items.

The solution was to include my external drive into my login items.
You can set the media folder in the TV app’s Preferences, very similar to how it was with iTunes.
If the external network drive is offline when trying to access it, then that setting may not be applied.
