Blue Dot Vanishes

Historically, there was blue dot when you updated an app. After opening the app the blue dot would disappear. Now the blue dot vanishes without opening the app. Why is that? Thanks.

pjglad,

Thanks for getting back in touch with us.

Our apologies for any confusion. To find your recently updated apps, please open the App Store. With the App Store app open, do you see the your account icon in the top-right corner? It might look like a circle with a photo inside. If so, tap on that circle, scroll down, then you may see the section titled, “Updated Recently.” Those are the apps that have been recently updated, and they might even show when they were updated (i.e. Today, Yesterday, 2 Days Ago, etc.).

We hope this clarifies the navigational steps for you.

Have a great day!

Hello pjglad,

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. We see that you have some questions about the icon that appears next to an app after it has been updated, and we're here to lend a hand.

Each iOS update may install exciting new usability features and settings. In iOS 15 and later, you can view your recently updated apps by tapping on Settings > [your name in the top-right corner] > Updated Recently.

Also, if you'd like more control over when your apps are updated, you can enable or disable automatic updates in Settings > App Store > Automatic Downloads > App Updates. Check this out to learn more:

We hope this information is useful. Kind regards.
