Macbook Pro screen randomly going black - closing and reopening needed to lighten it up

Dear All,

I recently updated my laptop to latest Macbook Pro with M1 Pro chipset (running Monterey 12.0.1) and have peculiar problem with it since day 1:

After a short while of inactivity (sometimes even a few secs), screen randomly goes black (keyboard is still responsive but there is no vision) and the only way to revive it / lighten the screen up is to fully close and open the laptop case, with no other way (such as tapping keyboard, touch ID, trackpad) having and impact. I have tried playing with battery / screensaver settings) with no impact of the settings on the issue. Seems the frequency of this issue has recently been increasing. It doesn't matter if it is running on battery or being charged.

Tried the forum for similar issues but couldn't find sth similar. Apologies if it was resolved before.

Very much looking forward to getting some help! Thank you.

Best

Tomasz
