Apple canceled my paid order (new macbook pro 16).

No explanation of the reasons, and the money was not returned. Who should I contact? is it possible via chat?

If your order was still in "Processing" then your card was not charged—it may have put a hold on the funds but not charged.

Typically if an order was canceled it is due to the fact Apple could not meet the "expected delivery date"

You simply have to re-order.

On November 10, I saw a MacBook in stock in 5 stores in New York. I tried unsuccessfully to order pickup several times, but the goods were still displayed in stock after such attempts. Then I was able to order delivery, the money was debited from the card.

And today I see again that the order has been canceled :(

Please explain, if such "Available Today" statuses suddenly appear in stores, could it be fake?

This is exactly what I was afraid of. its the reason why I ordered on the first day, and then picked one up at the Apple Store when I was driving nearby(its 2 hours away by car). I knew that Apple has an initial supply, and then it might be May before I could get one again.

Normally, I wait until I see if there are any hard ware issues before I buy.

Status was «order in progress».
the money has just been returned.

Apple could not meet the "expected delivery date" – it sounds bad, because I chose the latest of the suggested dates and times.
And I could have waited for the postponement of the delivery date, and now the laptop is out of stock, I can't re-order :(

Thanks for your corroboration ArturChernyi —

there are some supply chain issue, this is out of your control.

All you can do is try at a later date...

Yes... they are shipped out of China often by UPS. But the ability of China to make them due to available chips on hand, or in their supplies has to be slowing from the original amount. Undoubtedly the Chinese factories had a warehouse supply since they started manufacturing them last May. Apple keeps all this information very tightly to their chests, so no one really knows what’s happening.

This is not true.

In the USA, I placed an order for a base model on October 18, at 4:30PM 2 1/2 hours after the end of the Unleashed presentation. My delivery was set for NOV 2- NOVEMBER 9. On October 29, I was passing by the only Apple Store in my state(2 hours south of me), and so I stopped by and picked on up out of their stock, and then the Apple Store canceled my online Apple order for me.

BUT YOU ARE RIGHT, that you cannot order online for Pick Up. They are currently being delivered directly by UPS from China.

Those computers are generally NOT in stock. There may be a few of the base model in stores, but this will vary widely based on your geographic area.

At this writing, in Greater Boston USA, only the base model 16-in is available at a larger store, all others are special order with Dec 1 thru 8 as preliminary delivery dates (before adding options, which stretches delivery date out further).

The 14-in is not available from stock, and orders are showing a Dec 1 thru 8 delivery BEFORE options are added.

Yes... I knew this would happen. They will sell out. The Apple store in Portland, Maine, on October 29 only had the SpaceGray base model M1Pro 16 in stock(and I’m not sure how many). I was lucky that its the exact model I wanted. But I also knew that if I waited until February like I normally do, it might be May before the backlog of making them in China was filled.

They could not produce the computer you ordered, in the time frame they promised.

if buying from store stock, someone sold it in person before it could be set aside for you. Having nothing to deliver, they canceled your order.

So if you want one, order one. The new terms and anticipated delivery dates will be shown on your new order.
