Apple Cash charge
How is it possible to have a debit from your account when you've never set up an Apple Cash account/method of payment? I've used Apple pay in the past on older phones but rarely used it and the card(s) associated are no longer even valid. I bought an iPhone 12 Max and never set up Apple Pay, Apple Cash, or anything else related to the Apple Wallet. When I called to try to determine what the charge was for I was transferred out to a third party financial institution and asked for my FULL SSN, full DOB, and I was uncomfortable providing that over the phone considering the circumstances. I asked if they could ask me different questions to confirm my identity, as Apple (allegedly) had already confirmed my identity before transferring my call to them. They would not, and insisted they needed this information. I declined and initiated a dispute through my financial institution. Has anyone else experienced something like this? What was the outcome? This was not a significant charge, thankfully, but my concern was that it could start small and progressively increase in amount/times. Thanks in advance for any insight anyone provides.
