just today i noticed a strange issue with my macbook air's screen, above the G/near the image in the center. ive tried rubbing it off with a microfiber cloth/cleaning the screen but nothing has worked. is this an artifact/display glitch?

Lots of things there look strange to me and there is more than one "g". Exactly which "oddity" are you talking about? The dark spot at the 2:30 O'Clock position on right edge of the box?
Is the "artifact" on all screens or just this one? If all, a monochrome background would help visually.
