Iphone 13 Pro choppy/jittery scrolling

I've noticed choppy / jittery scrolling on my 13 Pro since I got it two weeks ago. I've jsut updated the ios to 15.1 and it's even worse now. It's not as bad in safari (except at the end of scrolling) but in other apps - Facebook, Instagram, Chrome, even Apple native apps like Settings, it becomes very jarring. Did Apple just ship this when it was good enough and when can we expect a fix? I'm disappointed as I was choosing between the 13 lineup and the (also very good) Google Pixel and heard rave reviews about the 13 Pro's screen.

It’s been talked about on toms hardware and multiple other sites. It’s a known issue with variable refresh rates. Suggesting somebody spend hours upon hours flattening their phones is not helpful and will solve nothing but time loss.

Apple needs to fix this via an iOS update or hardware replacement. My 13 Pro Max is a disappointing “upgrade” from my 12 Pro Max 🙄

I could not agree more, I 'upgraded' to a 13 Pro Max 1TB and regret it each moment I've used this phone from the day I got it on the 24th of September last year.

I'm not being pedantic here, but the aforementioned stated issues within this thread seriously ruin my user experience and cause me to feel utterly sick each time I use it. What I would give to go back to my 11 Pro Max 512GB..

This needs to be sorted out via firmware or hardware..

Soon please!!!

Two basic troubleshootings steps to perform:

A "forced" restart of your iPhone using these instructions:--> Force restart iPhone – Apple Support

If the issue persists, something could have gone wrong during the latest update procedure.

I would try to install a fresh copy of iOS/iPadOS. To do this, create a full backup of your iPhone/iPad (1), then restore it to factory settings (you need a computer to perform this step) and, in the end, set it up as new (2).

When done, restore data from your previously made backup (3).

Follow the instructions provided in these support articles:

(1) How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch – Apple Support

(2) Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings – Apple Support

(3) Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch from a backup

If the issue still persists, contact Apple Support directly using this link:--> Get Support or make an appointment (*) and have your device inspected at an Apple Store or AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) among this list:--> Apple – Location Selector. After checking it out, they'll give you all the available options.

Giulio

It's still happening in most apps after I upgraded to 15.2, now with the privacy concerns that Apple is going to implement that will set a dangerous precedent (iOS photo scanning called CSAM), I am seriously considering moving onto a different smartphone company. I have seen the photos from Samsung and Google phones and have been highly impressed lately, and they don't throttle refresh rates down to 10Hz like in the iPhones (which causes this jittery scrolling).
