Since my last OS update, my bluetooth speaker is now recognized and connected as headphones, with the headphone icon.
Before my sound was great but now, I have to have it nearly on max sound to be able to hear music at a normal sound.
Does anyone have this issue? How can I get this fixed?

Try resetting NVRAM/PRAM http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1379
(get at least two-three rounds of the chimes when holding the NRAM Reset)
