iCloud finder upload speed is very slow

I'm trying to upload about 65gb of files into iCloud but at this rate it is going to take all year, so far it has done 1.6gb in 4 hours. I'm using a M1 Pro MacBook with connected via ethernet.

I have tried manually uploading a file via the iCloud.com website and it is very fast, a 240mb file took less than a minute to upload. The file that I uploaded through iCloud.com synced back to my computer very quickly, so it's just the upload speed that appears broken.

iCloud Drive Upload Unusably Slow I decided to start using iCloud Drive in hopes of retiring my use of Dropbox. I dragged a folder that is 100G from my iMac HD onto my iCloud Drive. That was well over 24 hour ago and the upload is at less that 1% complete. At this point, it would take well over 100 days for this folder to be available in iCloud. I tested the same folder this morning with Dropbox and it took about an hour to upload the entire thing. My ISP upload rate is averaging around 100MB per second using speedtest.net. Is there a "first aid" for iCloud option that may resolve this? Or does iCloud always perform at a mid-80s dial up modem connection rate? FYI, I'm on Big Sur and a 2017 iMac

iCloud Drive file upload isn't progressing My file upload to iCloud Drive isn't progressing. Info reads 'Uploading 11 items' ' 0 KB of 60.09 GB'. It has been like this for 2 weeks. No progress. There's enough storage available. Internet connection is fine. What can I do to correct this? I'm using MacOS Monterey 12.4. Thank you for your consideration and time.

Finder iCloud icons do not match reality M1 MacBook Pro, latest Monterey 12.5.1. In Finder, several folders have the 'Waiting to upload' grey cloud icon, and the Size column shows an up arrow with 8.85 GB, indicating how much has not yet uploaded; but the contents have been the same for months (I have plenty of iCloud storage left). But when I look at icloud.com in a browser, all of the files are there! I created a new file this morning and the 8.85GB went to 8.87GB, indicating the new file had not been uploaded. So I checked with icloud.com and there it is, it had been uploaded. I simply can't trust the icons and size column in Finder to tell me whether files have been synced or not! I spoke to apple support yesterday and they had me reboot into safe mode. After a few reboots the Size column emptied but the icon stayed as 'waiting to upload'. Any suggestions?
