How can I tell if my photos are backed to the cloud from my iPad

There should be a progress bar at the bottom of the screen if photos are still uploading to iCloud. If it’s not there, your photos have probably been backed up.
One way to check for sure is to go to icloud.com and go to iCloud Photos from there. You’ll be able to see all the photos that have been uploaded to iCloud.
