Attaching a PDF doc in Mail

When sending a Pages PDF document in mail, the entire document appears in the mail window. How do I prevent this?

Place the file in a folder.

Attach the folder to the email using Drag and Drop.


The closed folder will appear as an attachment to the message.

Note, though the double clicking the folder will open the file.
