Attaching a PDF doc in Mail

When sending a Pages PDF document in mail, the entire document appears in the mail window. How do I prevent this?

Can't change format to pdf or docx when emailing from Pages since new update Since the latest update to pages whenever I click on share either from the dropdown menu or the menu bar it only lets me send a pages document by email. There is not an option to send a pdf or word doc like there used to be. Because I work with people without macs this is a real inconvenience. I now need to export the file then attach it that way. the extra step is a nuisance. Please tell me this was an oversight that will be fixed...

PDF attachments are sending as icons but showing up as the body of the email rather than at attachment once it's received in an inbox? I'm having trouble with attachments. When I select a document to attach, in either Word (doc) or pdf, sometimes the whole file opens in the body of the document, instead of just appearing as an attachment icon. I can't figure out why this only happens sometimes...seems to happen more with documents I've scanned in and saved as either Word or PDF files - what might I be doing wrong?

Place the file in a folder.

Attach the folder to the email using Drag and Drop.

The closed folder will appear as an attachment to the message.

Note, though the double clicking the folder will open the file.
