Deleting smart folder and the files, do I also lose the original files? How to avoid losing the original files

A smart folder is just a criterion, not an actual folder.

If you delete the smart folder itself, the files will remain, wherever they are.

Note: do not delete the files from within the smart folder!

If you delete the contents, you will delete the originals.

If you just delete the folder, the files will remain.
